Storing your Boat for the Winter? What about your Carpet?

Getting your boat ready for winter storage can be a project with lots of items on your list to check and re-check. One item you don’t want to overlook is your carpet. Before storing for the season, you should give your carpet a thorough cleaning. For specific instructions on how to best clean your marine carpet, click here: How To Clean Marine Carpet

If your carpet is glued to the boat floor, the most important thing to do is to be sure that it is dried thoroughly before you cover for winter storage.

If your boat has a removable, snap-in mat, after it has been cleaned and dried completely, you should roll it up, carpet face out. Store it laying flat. Standing it on end will damage the edge.

Getting your carpet ready is probably one of the easiest things on the list but still important – so don’t skip it!
